Warmest greetings to the people of St. Mary faith community. I’m Father Rich Rosinski and as of June 17, 2019 by the Grace of God and the will of Bishop Malloy I have been named your new Pastor. I am coming to the community of St. Mary after being a priest of the Rockford diocese since 1991. In my 28 years of priestly service I have been assigned to seven different parishes around our diocese and have learned much about our faith and the lived experience of God’s people. I look forward to continuing my faith journey with all of you in this next adventure of my life.

I grew up in our diocese living many years in Cary, IL while attending Saints Peter and Paul parish. Three of my sisters continue to live in Cary although their Mass attendance changes every time my assignment does. They are my priest “groupies”. The rest of my siblings live a little further away: my brother and his wife in Moline, IL and my 4th sister and her husband live in Marion, Iowa. After studying at Saint Mary Seminary and University in Baltimore, MD I was ordained by Bishop O’Neill in May 1991 and have joyfully served God’s people since then. My free time is usually balanced between my love of history and my desire to be outside in nature. My prayer as I being my assignment of St. Mary is that the Lord will continue to guide all of us as we work together to build up His Kingdom here on earth.

Peace always,

Fr. Rich

  • Sign up for Mass Dear People of St. Mary,   As we begin this process of reopening the church for public Mass there will be some growing pains and adjustments that need to be made so that things will run as smoothly as possible. Yesterday I sent an email letter explaining the requirements and procedures to begin the public celebration of Mass on Tuesday, June 2. I need to make some clarifications to help everyone in the parish have the opportunity to participate in Mass if they desire.   1          Please choose only one (1) Mass during the month of June. This is to give everyone who desires to attend an opportunity. We are limited to ten (10) people excluding the ministers. However, if you look ...
