Teen Pilgrimage to Washington DC

January 20-24, 2009

The Diocese of Rockford Respect Life Office is arranging a 5-day pilgrimage to Washington, D.C. to participate in the 36th Annual March for Life. The Pilgrimage is open to youth groups, young adults, adults, and families traveling together. Last year, more than 150,000 people participated in the March. This trip provides pilgrims from the Rockford Diocese the opportunity to add their voices to these numbers and experience the largest celebration of life in the United States.

 

The Pilgrimage offers many opportunities for spiritual and educational growth, including:

Late Afternoon: Pilgrims embark on a straight through motor coach trip to Washington!

Departure points TBD.

 

Wednesday, January 21st

Morning:: Arrive in Washington DC

Afternoon: Explore the Catholic Sites of DC

Evening: Participation in the National Vigil for Life at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception

 

Thursday, January 22nd

Morning: Youth Rally and Mass at the Verizon Center or the special Illinois Mass at the Basilica

1:00 AM: Participation in the March for Life!

 

Friday, January 23rd

Morning: Explore the National Mall’s monuments and museums

Afternoon: Begin return trip to the Rockford Diocese of Rockford

 

Saturday, January 24th

Arrive in Rockford with joyful hearts & great memories!

 

Pilgrimage Transportation, Accommodations & Cost

Adults: Per-person cost is $310 per person (quad occupancy)* - $350 per person (tri occupancy: three-in-a-room) - $390 per person (double occupancy).

 

Teens: Early bird price is $200 per person (quad) if paid in full by November 1st.
