DIOCESAN PRO-LIFE LITURGY In our Diocese, Catholics come together monthly for a time of prayer and celebration of the Holy Mass offered for the protection of all life and for the end to abortion. This Pro-Life Liturgy rotates to different parishes in the Rockford Diocese each month. Prayer time begins with the Rosary for Life at 6:40pm. Followed by Mass at 7:00pm. Check the bulletin for the location of the Mass each month. Your prayers can make the difference in the fate of a child's life. More information to follow or call Sabina at 815-349-5843.
LEGISLATIVE E-MAIL TREE The e-mail tree is activated by the Diocesan Respect Life Office to keep members up-to-date on important Pro-Life legislation that effects the citizens of Illinois. Recipients of the legislative e-mail can then contact Senators and Congressmen to urge them to vote for Life. Watch for yearly sign-up in the bulletin. LIFE CHAIN The first Sunday in October is designated for the Life Chain which is a peaceful witness to the dignity of all life. Participates line the streets of Alpine Rd. and East State St. ( which makes the shape of a cross ) holding signs and praying from 2:00pm - 3:00pm for the end of abortion in our nation and especially in our Diocese.
RESPECT LIFE COMMITTEE We meet through out the year to plan upcoming events and discuss current events. Times and events will be posted on the web-site and in the bulletin. For more information on this ministry, please contact Sabina at 815-349-5843.
TEENS FOR LIFE HIGHSCHOOL aged young adults come together the first Tuesday of every month ( 7:00pm ) at the Kruse's, to discuss their concerns and ideas for pro-life and how they can make a difference in their community. We use the Generations for Life curriculum for thought provoking meetings and ideas for upcoming events. For more information and directions, please contact Sabina at 815-349-5843.
SPIRITUAL ADOPTION "If you could save someone's life by saying a prayer, would you do it?" Parishioners are asked to say a daily prayer for the protection of an unborn child who is in danger of being aborted. The "adoption" begins in September and ends in June with a "baby shower" in which the "adoptive" parents are asked to bring a baby item to the Church which will then be donated to the Rockford Area Pregnancy Center. The Spiritual Adoption this year will begin on the weekend of September ___ and ___. Exact date will be posted. PLEASE consider joining our army of prayer warriors to save the lives of the littlest ones in God's Kingdom. |
